Alzheimer’s Disease Research
A national initiative
Alzheimer’s Disease is the most common neurodegenerative disease in the US, affecting more than 35% of people age 85 and older. Current drugs have only a marginal and temporary effect on Alzheimer’s Disease progression. Our goal is to use state of the art genomics data to discover new drug targets for this devastating disease.
Institutional Support and Resources
CADRE is focused on analyses of data generated by the Alzheimer’s Disease Sequencing Project, a national collaboration with data representing tens of thousands of individuals and/or related family members.
Research
Our goal is to enhance understanding of the genetic architecture of this disease and to accelerate the search for new therapeutic targets. Our work is inclusive of populations that historically have not been represented in large genetic studies.
Investigators
Our investigators are affiliated with multiple academic institutions and have made seminal discoveries in the genetics of Alzheimer’s Disease. They now focus their collective scientific efforts on this new national initiative.
